Cindy Russell

Founder and owner of CJ Russell Services, Cindy Russell has been providing financial operations services to clients since 2005. These range anywhere from managing day to day financial transactions for personal clients, bookkeeping for small and medium sized businesses, to CFO for startup companies. Any client with a need for professional business management and reporting, or daily operational support can benefit from her expertise in: sales, contracts and agreements management, bookkeeping (payables, receivables, payroll, tax reporting), human resources (hiring procedures, evaluations, job descriptions), process documentation (writing company manuals), and government compliance (local, state, federal requirements for new business).

Prior to establishing her own business, Cindy spent six years as Business Manager for Mint Publishers Group, a book distributor. Cindy guided Mint Publishers from a new startup company through years of growth into a company with sales in millions of dollars and numerous employees. The first 10 years of Cindy’s business career were at IBM Corporation in Princeton, New Jersey; New York City and Columbus, Ohio; with five of those years as Manager of Business Operations.

John Russell

John Russell has over five years of bookkeeping, payroll administration, and business development experience in a diverse set of industries, including real estate, fine art, food & beverage, technology, and medical practice. He is a QuickBooks Online Certified Pro Advisor, receiving yearly training and re-certification in the latest bookkeeping technology and solutions for small businesses.

Prior to joining CJ Russell Services, John worked with several small businesses in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He created and maintained administrative systems for boutique real estate brokerage Box Street Properties for nearly three years. He used QuickBooks Online to track the company’s financial records, send invoices, issue tax documents to contractors, perform bank reconciliations, and present financial data to the principal broker, investors, and tax accountants. He also managed employee onboarding, drafted training manuals and employee handbooks, and maintained brokerage records in compliance with state and federal law. He executed the opening of popular Magazine Bar and oversaw the payroll administration for that company, as well as managing vendor invoicing and tracking cash on hand.
